About this listen
When hordes of 18-year-olds descend on the Mornington Peninsula to celebrate the end of exams, a brutal bashing attracts political attention.
The victim is connected, and now DI Hal Challis is facing interference from on high. Newly embarked on a relationship with his Sergeant, Ellen Destry, Challis doesn't need the brass looking over his shoulder.
Then a bludgeoned corpse is found outside town, and it's clear something much darker than adolescent craziness is going down.

Not a great listening experience
The narrator is not good however on top of this an issue with the editing had parts of a random audio book place in the chapters towards the end. The character are not particularly likeable and the story line a little weak, give this book a miss.

Brilliantly real
Love this series so much. Disher portrays cops as the flawed and often corrupt people that they are rather than impeccable heroes as so many crime novels insist.

Horrendous narration.
I have no idea what this book is about because I found the narration so unpleasant that I didn’t get past chapter 7……….and that on the third attempt!
It is very disappointing because I have listened to a few of Garry Dishers novels and thoroughly enjoyed them.
The narrator’s voice is droning, bereft of intonation, and dull in timbre.
I shall be avoiding purchasing any books narrated by him.

Good story spoilt by author's unsubtle propaganda.
What disappointed you about Blood Moon?
I was most disappointed and annoyed by this novel.! I don't expect to find the author's prejudices and propaganda so obvious in a fiction crime novel. Spoilt what was potentially a good story.
Also the story towards the end was interrupted by segments from another (American voiced) novel. The tapes had been mixed up. Rather off-putting!
The conclusion was far too abrupt and obviously intended to ensure the listener buys the next book in the series. I do not believe a good author should not have to stoop to this technique
I will be returning this book and certainly not buying any more by this author - even though he is a fellow Aussie!
Has Blood Moon put you off other books in this genre?
No - just put me off this author!

Good story badly edited
There are two inserts from a completely different story.
The cadences of the narrator, Colin McPhillamy are not always appropriate and a little annoying.
