About this listen
NATIONAL BESTSELLER • In this spellbinding novel, Lestat, rebel outlaw, addresses the tribe of vampires, telling us the mesmerizing story of how he became prince of the vampire world, and of the formation of the Blood Communion, and how his vision for the Children of the Universe to thrive as one, came to be.
Lestat takes us from his ancestral castle in the snow-covered mountains of France to the verdant wilds of lush Louisiana, with its lingering fragrances of magnolias and night jasmine; from the far reaches of the Pacific’s untouched islands to the 18th-century city of St. Petersburg and the court of the Empress Catherine. He speaks of his fierce battle of wits and words with the mysterious Rhoshamandes, proud Child of the Millennia, reviled outcast for his senseless slaughter of the legendary ancient vampire Maharet, avowed enemy of Queen Akasha, who refuses to live in harmony at court and who threatens all Lestat has dreamt of....
Critic Reviews
“[Rice’s] undead characters are utterly alive.” —The New York Times Book Review
“No one writing today matches [Anne Rice's] deftness with the erotic.” —The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
“Anne Rice will live on through the ages of literature. . . . To read her is to become giddy as if spinning through the mind of time, to become lightheaded as if our blood is slowly being drained away.” —San Francisco Chronicle

Didn’t like the voice actor.
A great book which was ruined by Eric Shaw Quinn’s narration. His pronunciation I found bizarre, he seeming deliberately pronounces characters names and french words incorrectly just often enough to be annoying. Places the emphasis on the wrong part of the sentence and doesn’t emote well at all. Please get Simon Vance back to redo this book. His reading of the rest of the series was superb.

Voice acting disappointing
After the last 2 books this was hard to listen to.
I'm not sure what a great ending to these chronicles would be but the ending is...satisfying.

Much better
Was pleasantly impressed. Best book in the chronicles since Blackwood farm. Still a few missed opportunities that could have really nailed it. Last few chapters were a bit slow, but that could have been as a result of how much I enjoyed the rest of it. Again, new characters were introduced, rather thought some old sidelined characters could have been utilised it in their place.

Worst so far
Bland, sentimental and utterly predictable. There were no surprises or twists and the introduction of new characters was pointless as we didn’t get know them. The narration was terrible.

Anne Rice's narrative is again excellent
This is once again an excellent book with Anne Rice keeping ate story flowing keeping it chronologicly spot on. Sadly this reader is not right for this story it needed a much stronger voice than he has and it let the narrative down rather badly

Ghost written money grab,, utter rubbish!
Terrible narration of a book I seriously doubt Anne Rice wrote. Feels more like Hollywood script than any one of her classics. A stain on the Chronicles, possibly a ghost written money grab.
