About this listen

I have blindness—blindness doesn't have me.

At the age of thirty-one, Dave Kelly lost his eyesight to a rare disease called retinitis pigmentosa (RP). Up until then, he had lived a life like any other young man, albeit one blessed to be growing up in Liverpool during the heyday of The Beatles and Liverpool FCs win against Leeds in the 1965 FA Cup. But then, one day everything changed. Dave was faced with a choice. He could either let blindness defeat him or he could face it head-on and live as fulfilling a life as he possibly could. In fact, becoming blind opened up a whole new world for Dave and inspired him to help others find light where before they had only seen darkness.

After years of loneliness and isolation, Dave emerged as a blind man with a vision. Blind Man with a Vision is his story...and he's only just getting started.
