About this listen
Two lovers from rival packs. Have they come together only to be forced apart?
Alec Knight, a beta in the Regent's Park pack, guards his heart carefully. Ghosts from his past keep him alone and angry, any hope of a relationship impossible while guilt from the pack wars still haunts him. With the anniversary drawing near, Alec needs a distraction.
As a lowly member of the Primrose Hill pack, Mark Appleton isn't used to having his alpha's attention. Lately he's had more than his fair share, and not for the right reasons. Despite growing suspicions that all is not well, Mark tries hard to do better, but constant criticism leaves him desperate for a stress outlet.
Sex is a good way for shifters to let off steam, and while their packs attack each other with accusations and lies, Alec and Mark work out their frustrations in bed. Pillow talk and shared secrets lead to a closeness neither was expecting, but when pack relations reach an all-time low, any future for them seems out of the question.
If they want to be together, they'll have to go against their alphas' wishes - except Alec won't and Mark can't.
Contains mature themes.

A misunderstood character
I would just like to address some of these previous reviews(I know I'm supposed to review the book, but bear with me), I do believe you guys have completely missed the point. Are you all new to shifter/wolf books? Unfamiliar with wolf pack dynamics? It's the overwhelming urge to follow your Alpha.
A few have come down really hard on Marks' character saying he should of been killed off, but I feel Mark did the best he could with what he was delt with. I think Marks' character was well thought out and well developed. He had good moral fiber that he tried to follow as much as his confined limitations allowed him.
If you've read the previous books in this series then I seriously recommend reading Bitten by Desire as I feel Mark & Alec's love story had an almost "Fated Mates" feel to it.
To Annabelle Jacobs, please ignore the trolls you have written a lovely shifter series that I and a few others are thoroughly enjoying. Keep on writing and we'll keep on reading.

Outstanding action/suspense shifter romance!
Once cooperative, relations between the Regent’s Park and Primrose Hill packs have deteriorated to the point fo animosity and mutual accusations to the Alpha Pack Council. Seeking comfort, troubled beta Alec Knight throws caution to the wind by bedding junior rival pack member Mark Appleton. Increasingly desperate and vicious, the Primrose Hill Alpha and Beta attempt to pervert the course of justice, drawing Mark and those he cares about into their deadly game. Can Alec save the man he’s coming to love?
This classic Romeo & Juliet tale was so gripping and tense, I loved every moment! Alec and Mark’s age-gap romance was a soothing balm in the midst of all the GoT-like political machinations and the final showdown was epic—this is exactly the kind of shifter story I want. There were one or two moments where I felt Mark could have easily made better decisions, but I could write it off given his inexperience. 🎧 UK voice actor Antony Ferguson didn’t put a foot wrong, this was a great audio and the best book in the series so far!
