A Prayer Before Dawn is the true story of one man's fight to survive inside Klong Prem prison, the notorious Bangkok Hilton. Billy Moore traveled to Thailand to escape a life of drug addiction and alcoholism. He managed to overcome his inner demons for a time but relapsed after trying ya ba, a highly addictive form of methamphetamine. Moore's life quickly descended into chaos, drug dealing, and violence until he was eventually arrested and imprisoned in Klong Prem, a place where life has no value.
A Prayer Before Dawn is no ordinary prison memoir; it's the story of one man's struggle to survive in one of the world's toughest prisons. It's also a story of redemption in the most unlikely of places.

Brilliantly read, gripping true story.
Terrifying account of life in a Thai prison. A fascinating mix of characters. Very well narrated, with a great range of accents.

fantastic book, very well narrated
loved this book, was captivating, a bit of an adventure and eye opening. the performance was great and the book itself transported you into the authors world. havnt come across a book this great in a long time

Awesome book!
Absolutely loved this book, extremely well read and an amazing story that seemed very authentic. Brought back memories of being in Thailand.

Leave off the accent

Fascinating story.
The best audiobook I've listened to in a long while.
Truly eye opening and gripping. Rupert's story telling along with Billy's story was absolutely perfect.

Give it a miss. Don't give this author your money.
Horrible narrator, not helped along by the fact that the writing itself is bad. I didn't appreciate the casual racism the author tossed around with his comments about money grabbing Thai people who are all untrustworthy, along with his obvious transphobia.
