An amazing book, transports you back in time. The language being spoken by the narrator soothes the soul. Thank you 👍🏾

will definitely be listening to this one again
such a strong story of the impact of white settlement on individual indigenous people. the use of Wiradjuri language throughout is strong and compelling, more books like this should be shared. loved the story and narration.

Heartbreakingly moving
Well. My heart just broke into a million pieces and I don’t even know where to start pulling them back together. This book will stay with me for the rest of my life. I am so thankful to have read it.

History interwoven with a moving story
The story is a rich tapestry of aboriginal life interwoven with the coming of colonisers and the changes that are forced because of that

I have never listened to a book so fast!
What a pleasure listening to this book has been. I couldn't put it down.
The narrator did an amazing job with the different voices, accents and intonations of each character.
The writer has done an amazing job at transporting us to these difficult times and to teach me more about aboriginal culture.
It is well written and well told. Thank you.

loved story not so much narrator
I loved everything about this story, i struggle with this narrator however listen again as she is the narrator of many titles i like. I sometimes buy the book to read instead of listening when I see that tamala is the narrator.

Heartbreaking, authentic and a must read for all Australians
A heartbreaking story that helped me better understand the connection to country that our First Nations people have, the loss that they felt when colonists took them from their land and why they are still fighting for recognition of this awful history today. This story has a beautiful portrayal of family love and loss and I loved the use of indigenous language throughout. Outstanding narration too.
