Quite sick
Ik heb me door de heerste helft van het boek heen geworsteld, Daarna zat er wat meer verhaal in. De humor was goed, maar de manier waarop het drama werd weer gegeven toch wat smakeloos.

lovely twist in the tail
wonderfully crafted story, as you expect from Mantel. Bentinck does a great job as narrator, she gives you exactly the experience you want from an audio book.

Hard labour
The reader was fantastic however while it began as funny and entertaining it moved into a disintergrating relationship bereeen the 2 protagonists. I found it depressing but needed to finish and was relieved when I did.It was towards the end that the reason for the spirits being so unpleasant was realised.

While I usually love Hillary Mantels novels this one is overly long , complicated , I gave up on it.
