About this listen
A revised and updated edition of the popular self-help book for men that addresses contemporary issues and how they impact the way men deal with anger
Men tend to express their anger differently than women do. Research shows men are often more violent and less willing to confront and deal with their emotions than women. Written by a psychologist who specializes in the treatment of male rage, Beyond Anger shows the angry - and miserable - man how to change his life and relationships for the better.
This book helps men understand their anger by explaining what the specific symptoms of chronic anger are and by showing angry men how their actions negatively affect family, friends, and coworkers. It helps men control violent feelings by using simple exercises - developed especially for men - to identify when and why anger occurs and by helping them form new habits to prevent anger before it starts. Women, too, will learn essential strategies for understanding and helping the angry men in their lives.
Beyond Anger is honest, tough, and real. In this revised edition, Harbin will update references throughout and discuss new topics such as the role of the internet and social media in fueling anger and how to protect yourself against these pitfalls, as well as a discussion on anger and aging, the political landscape and anger, PTSD, a brand-new section on preventing relapse into anger, and many other relevant, timely topics.
PLEASE NOTE: When you purchase this title, the accompanying PDF will be available in your Audible Library along with the audio.

After the first two chapters, I was already well on the way to recovery from verbal abuse to others. It was a real eye opener to see what was classed as what people like me think as normal and abnormal behaviour, this book also covers a range of situations from partners, children, friends, family, work situations and childhood upbringings to really widen the range of audience. If I could meet this Author, I’d thank him for changing my outlook on anger, and in turn, my life and future.
So yeah, I recommend it.

Some good insights, and some bad incites
Didn't really appreciate the chapter written for women to leave their men, kind of turned out the whole book is written for women to pigeon hole, stereotype their man, and go and get a divorce

Just what I needed
This book has really helped me see when, how and why I am the man I am. It has also put me on the right path and I finally feel like there is light at the end of the tunnel, not only for me but for my family.
Thank you

10 hours of describing angry men, no help whatsoever
If you're looking for a "guide" to help you overcome anger, this is not for you. The author spends the entire ten hours describing all the different kinds of angry men he's met and can imagine. Much of it is dated, and the way the men he described express their anger is quite different to how men express their anger today.
There is very little advice or help. It all boils down to "This is an angry man. He does this, and when X happens he says Y. Does this sound like you?".
Fairly pointless overall.
