About this listen
A laugh-out-loud, slice-of-life martial-arts fantasy about . . . farming????
Jin Rou wanted to be a cultivator. A man powerful enough to defy the heavens. A master of martial arts. A lord of spiritual power. Unfortunately for him, he died, and now I'm stuck in his body.
Out in the middle of nowhere, I've managed to escape a life of cultivation and politics. Until now, that is. I guess it was inevitable they caught up with me eventually. I haven't exactly been subtle. You know, what with the talking animals performing heroics all over the Azure Hills and Xiulan constantly calling me a Hidden Master.
A part of me wants to run away again. The memory of my death still haunts my dreams. But this is my home now. And I'll be damned if I give it up without a fight.
I mean, all I have to do is learn how to navigate xianxia politics and train for battle while simultaneously running my farm and uncovering an ancient cataclysm that apparently destroyed the Azure Hills back in the day.
Meanwhile, I'm about to be a father . . . Man, I'm kinda screwed, aren't I? At least I can call in the cavalry—ahem, poultry—to help.
The fourth volume of the blockbuster progression-fantasy series—with more than 20 million views on Royal Road—now available on Kindle, Kindle Unlimited, and Audible!

Good, but not as good as the previous
I think this one was a touch weaker than the previous entries. I'm not sure if it's just because the previous book was so action-packed, while this one was much more slice of life, but this book felt like it spent a lot of time summarising what was happening, rather than involving the reader in the story. Definitely still enjoyable, and learning more about the past and what was going on was great, but it was a bit less engaging. The performance by Travis Baldree was superb, as usual.

another great book
I love this series and this book is no exception. I never knew I would tear up over a duel between a man and a chicken but here we are.

Beware of chicken 3.5
This is another good entry for the series but it’s also not really a book 4.. it is more a filler book about how everyone is feeling and why they ended up where they are. Plus you get to know about the earth spirits history which was kinda meh. All in all it didn’t feel like a story so much as a diary entry by everyone and it was the first time I’m not that interested in the next one from the series..
Still gave it 4 stars as I believe there was a point to why this book is the way it is

Cozy story with interesting characters
The story was cozy and heartwarming as told from multiple perspectives. The narration was great and made it easy to know who was speaking.

Joy in the small things
Never have I been as interested in the small details. This is a series that wins your heart by sweeping you along in a story of people living and loving their lives.
It's got cheesy tropes, inanities and a big heaping of silliness. It's simply a fun read and Travis makes it a delight to listen to.
I don't know how else to describe it. I've been reading since my youth and after 40 odd years of being able I can say few books have been as enjoyable a read.

Fillers..
The last book in this serie was great, I was really looking forward to this book but this book feel like it's just fillers, just disappointing and kinda boring. Nothing really happened in this book, hopefully the next book in this serie is better?
