About this listen

Jonas is a British spy out in the cold. When his father is kidnapped by ISIS in Syria, he heads to Beirut and recruits a Swiss priest named Father Tobias.

Tobias agrees to travel into the heart of the Islamic State and inform the kidnappers that Jonas is willing to negotiate for his father's life.

British intelligence agents try everything in their power to stop Jonas, and he finds himself tested to the limit as he fights to keep the negotiations alive.

Unusually good, suspenseful and believable.

A remarkable first novel well written and professionally narrated. I can’t wait for the second in the trilogy. Wolff says that he worked for the British government, but surely this is an understatement. Could Wolff be the modern day Le Carre? Let’s hope so.

Thrilling details.

I got this on recommendation of a friend and it has not disappointed the narrator does a wonderful job with accents. The details of cities places and spots. The intricate details of accounts are wonderfully described.

An enjoyable espionage
