About this listen

The sun was beginning to set as Bella skipped across her backyard, her curly hair bouncing with each step. She was a curious child with an imagination as wide as the sky. Every day, Bella transformed her backyard into a new world. Yesterday, it had been a pirate’s cove full of hidden treasure. Today, it was a jungle filled with wild beasts.

“Captain Bella,” she whispered, gripping a stick she had found earlier like a sword. She knelt low behind a bush, peeking out like an explorer hunting for hidden secrets. “The lost treasure is just beyond the cliffs of danger!”

She leaped over a rock, dodged a tree branch, and landed with a triumphant “Aha!” near the old shed at the edge of the yard. She hadn’t played much near the shed before. It was dusty, with ivy climbing its sides, and the door creaked as if it had a secret to tell.
