"قبل أن أنسى أني كنت هنا" رواية تنتمي إلى عالم الخيال يمزج فيها المؤلف بين الواقع والفانتازيا حيث تبدأ الأحداث بصة الشاعر والصحفي "نور قنديل" الذي تزوج نجوان بعد أن مات حبيب كل منهما أمام عينيه في الانتفاضة الشعبية التي أسقطت نظام حكم حسني مبارك... يجد كل منهما العزاء في الآخر وينجبان ابنتهما الوحيدة نهاوند.

ومع زيارة نور إلى سوهاج تأخذ الأحداث في التصاعد إذ يمر بجوار نخلة تسقط فجأة دون سبب واضح مخلفة وراءها بركة من الدموع، ويتذكر نور أن سوهاج هي مسقط رأس حبيبته الأولى نادين، في نفس اللحظة يرن هاتفه ليجد بانَّ المتكلم هو "نادين" !!

ومن سوهاج يسافر نور إلى الأقصر حيث يسمع بأن شجرة في منزل تاجر معروف ماتت ابنته أيضا في القاهرة في الانتفاضة انخلعت من الأرض وطارت إلى السماء.

يبدأ نور في الاعتقاد بأن هذه الأشجار تنخلع من الأرض وتغادرها حزنا على الشبان الذين ماتوا في أحداث 25 يناير كانون الثاني ولم يعاقب أحد على ذلك...ثمَّ تظهر تلك المرأة "سيدة الزاوية الحمراء" التي تحفظ أسماء جميع من ماتوا في الانتفاضة وتنتظر اليوم الذي تنادي عليهم فيعودون إلى الحياة

ويبدؤون رحلة الانتقام !!
