Publisher's Summary

Sometimes you find love in the most unexpected of places....

This is not one of those times.

Everyone expects Billie Bridgerton to marry one of the Rokesby brothers. The two families have been neighbors for centuries, and as a child the tomboyish Billie ran wild with Edward and Andrew. Either one would make a perfect husband...someday.

Sometimes you fall in love with exactly the person you think you should....

Or not.

There is only one Rokesby Billie absolutely cannot tolerate, and that is George. He may be the eldest and heir to the earldom, but he's arrogant and annoying, and she's absolutely certain he detests her. Which is perfectly convenient, as she can't stand the sight of him, either.

But sometimes fate has a wicked sense of humor....

Because when Billie and George are quite literally thrown together, a whole new sort of sparks begins to fly. And when these lifelong adversaries finally kiss, they just might discover that the one person they can't abide is the one person they can't live without....

Loved it!

Another great story from one of my favourite authors. Julia Quinn always has the knack to make you laugh out loud at times. It gets you in right from the beginning.
Very well narrated as well. Can't wait for the next one!

Beautifully told

Was a great prequel to the Bridgerton series. The narrator did an amazing job and suits these stories wonderfully. Looking forward to starting the rest!

Light hearted romance. Easy to listen to

Rosalyn Landor is a great narrator and is great at separating the characters. The story was a bit slow moving and had no real excitement but it was very easy to listen to and you could visualise George's frustration with billy I look forward to hearing about Andrew and Edwards stories

Same same.

storyline was like the others except there was a lot less background and no context to link this book with other books in a timeline. this book lacked depth.

Worth reading / listening

I absolutely enjoyed the book overall, the performance & story & engaged with the characters maybe just find the restrained era frustrating?? Great for a light read, I’m looking for more depth & history. Would definitely still recommend though.

entertaining

I listened to this story whilst travelling then working night shift. it was a great distraction and time flew. i did note the croquet obsession and black mallet. was this the generation before the famous film bridgerton book? so spy work didn't suit george? did the package ever get delivered lol
