What an excellent series!

I have really enjoyed Bears of Burden and the fact that it was in a complete box set was just the cherry on top!

Thorn- As is often the case with a first book in a series, Thorn and Allie's story is a bit slowed down by the world building and the introduction of the characters and locations. It's a great story nonetheless and both Allie and Thorn are very relatable characters with great chemistry and banter!

Wyatt- oh these two can be so stubborn! And Georgia's clumsiness hit so close to me for me that I couldn't help wincing and laughing at her. But underneath the laughter and the pretty strong desire to bang their heads together to get over their stubbornness, there is a depth of complicated and delicate feelings for both of them.

Hutch- ooh Hutch...! Did I say that Wyatt was stubborn?! Well, he has nothing on Hutch! Veronica was such a great MFC ! She was quiet yet strong, innocent yet not, she had so much grit and spark despite the obstacles she's facing. I really liked her, but then she's probably easily everyone's best friend! As for Hutch, well he had his reasons and in the end, they are so great for each other.

Sterling- without a doubt my favorite! Sterling and Ophelia are just so sweet and right and heartwarming and sad and bitter sweet. Yep, my favourites!

Sam- you know what they say about the quiet ones? Yep, that's definitely Sam! Once again, the MFC, Presley, is such a strong woman despite her situations, despite her fears and her strength is the quiet one that builds and grows gently.

Matt- I wasn't so sure about reading that one, it's not my usual style but it was in the box set and I guess I had been getting attached and curious about him, so I kept listening. And I am glad I did. It was a bittersweet, emotional, depressing and uplifting book that I don't regret listening to.

This was my first series by Candace Ayers and I will be keeping an eye out for her books from now on. Her writing is really enjoyable, fast paced but not rushed, steamy but with a plot line and the banter is excellent.

Great work on the narration as well. The audiobook is smooth, the voices clear and enjoyable. Definitely a narrator I'll look up again.
