About this listen
While Arran Adair might have followed the call of wanderlust in his younger years, it isn't the reason he stayed away from Ardnoch. Home now, desperate to put the sins of his past behind him, and rebuild his life in the Scottish Highlands, Arran could never have predicted Eredine Willows. The Ardnoch Estate Pilates instructor is a complicated mystery and one Arran can't help but want to solve.
Eredine has spent the last eight years hiding in Scotland and building walls between her and the people she cares about. Arran is the first Adair who doesn't treat her as if she's fragile and demands a genuine friendship. Yet, the attraction sizzling between them is undeniable. So when she realizes she trusts him, Eredine surprises them both by offering Arran one night of no-strings passion.
Arran knows one night will inevitably lead to a desire for more and he's willing to stay by Eredine's side for as long as it takes to convince her there's something real between them. However, just when Arran thinks they might build a future together, Eredine's past returns to stalk her. And Arran won't just have to battle her demons to keep them together. He'll need to battle his own.

Narrator
I’m a huge fan of Samantha Young and have always downloaded her audiobooks as well as the e-books. I’m loathed to leave a less than favourable review … however I felt the female narrator’s Scottish accent was not convincing and over dramatised the narration throughout the story.

The Female narrator 😭😫💔
The biggest sad face is the female narrators Scottish accent, especially for the males. Waaah oh man, so cringe. It honestly makes me shudder, I mean we’re listening to a romance novel here so the narrator pre requisite for a romance should be making… first of all, great Scottish accent, but also a great male accent. I fully appreciate that a Scottish accent is very hard to replicate…. But this lady makes the male love interest sound beyond awful. I could cry it’s so bad! and it makes the book really hard the listen to. Her narration for the rest is ok, but I really wish they used someone who could actually do an at least passable Scottish accent. The male narrator is absolutely fantastic though no complaints at all there. If it weren’t for him I wouldn’t be able to finish the book. The American narrator for the first 2 Adair novels was great so they should have just used her again 🤷🏼♀️ I really wish producers of audiobooks would understand the importance of getting the narration & accents right 😫😫😫

Narration and story
Book four in this series and it’s becoming very repetitive. Also the female narrator was not good at a Scottish accent at all.
If the two narrators could confer on how they’re going to pronounce names too that’d be helpful. Aaron should sound the same but the American narrator and the British did not match. Finished just to get to the next book but will return this one.
