About this listen
Easy Company, 506th Airborne Division, U.S. Army, was as good a rifle company as any in the world. From their rigorous training in Georgia in 1942 to D-Day and victory, Ambrose tells the story of this remarkable company, which kept getting the tough assignments. Easy Company was responsible for everything from parachuting into France early D-Day morning to the capture of Hitler's Eagle's Nest at Berchtesgaden.
Band of Brothers is the account of the men of this remarkable unit who fought, went hungry, froze, and died, a company that took 150 percent casualities and considered the Purple Heart a badge of office. Drawing on hours of interviews with survivors as well as the soldiers' journals and letters, Stephen Ambrose tell the stories - often in the men's own words - of these American hereoes.

Great Listen
Really enjoyable. I must say however that all memorable moments were also in Band of Brothers - having watched that, you don't get a whole lot more out of this than that amazing show

Everyone needs to listen to this
Everyone on the planet knows band of brothers. And if you don't. You need to.
Bit hard to listen to the narrator butcher some words like guarnere, bastogne and toye.

Just what you want it to be.
Loved it. The story of the 506th in Band of Brothers fleshed out with more details about different incidents and the different characters left out from the series. Narrator doing a French accent when saying place names "Carentan" became Currrentorn" was mildly annoying but I would recommend this to anyone.

Winters should have received the medal of honour
Great book and a must listen for all. The men of easy company were truly the best of the best. And the bravest of the brave. What these men sacrifices and experienced was something everybody should know and be grateful for. They helped in no small amount, turn back the nazis and in my opinion made a huge difference to the war effort. I can only say thank you for your service.

The greatest adventure ever told
A must for any Ww2 buffs and Easy company enthusiasts. A brilliant account of true courage, bravery, sacrifice and most importantly brotherhood in the face of total horror.
