About this listen

From the Wall Street Journal best-selling author of 44 Chapters About 4 Men (inspiration for the Netflix original series Sex/Life) comes a new-adult romance with a dark, dystopian twist.

With only three days left until the predicted apocalypse, the small town of Franklin Springs, Georgia, has become a wasteland of abandoned cars, abandoned homes, abandoned businesses, and abandoned people. People like Rainbow Williams.

Rain isn’t afraid of dying. In fact, she’s looking forward to it. If she can just outrun her pain until April 23, she’ll never have to feel it at all.

Wes Parker has survived every horrible thing this life has thrown at him with nothing more than his resourcefulness and disarming good looks. Why should the end of the world be any different? All he needs are some basic supplies, shelter, and a sucker willing to help him out, which is exactly what he finds when he returns to his hometown of Franklin Springs.

As society crumbles, dangers mount, and secrets refuse to stay buried, two lost souls are thrust together in a twist of fate—one who will do anything to survive and one who can’t wait to die.

Perhaps, together, they can learn how to live.

Before their time runs out.

Critic Reviews

"BB Easton absolutely slays with Praying for Rain! A genius, unique premise with complex, intriguing characters, this story took us on the ride of our lives, and WE’RE DYING FOR MORE!!" (Max Monroe, New York Times best-selling authors)

Love is a battlefield!

This book is completely different to the books I normally read. The end of days/armageddon trope books are not really my thing, but I was intrigued… and curious… to see what would happen when two complete strangers are haphazardly thrown together by fate, and have to fight every day in order to survive the chaos and destruction that is happening around them, but still manage to fall in love. So, when I watched the short book trailer on the author’s IG page, I was convinced that this was something I definitely wanted to read.

Initially, I found the storyline to be quite interesting, but then it went a little crazy for me in the second book… like True Blood anarchy crazy, but without the vampires… but thankfully BB. Easton managed to redeemed herself in the third book with a great ending, so overall I found the trilogy it to be an awesome and interesting read.

One thing I will say about the audio book is that I personally did not enjoy listening to the male narrator . I found his reading tempo to be too slow for me, but once I increased the reading speed to 1.2x, it was much better and I was able to enjoy the book again.

Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.
