Publisher's Summary

Chapter 1

Lily Johnson stepped out of her car, her heart pounding with a mix of excitement and apprehension. This was it. The start of a new chapter in her life. She looked around at the picturesque surroundings, taking in the beauty of Maplewood. Towering maple trees stretched overhead, their leaves casting dappled shadows on the cobblestone streets. Vibrant flowers bloomed in carefully manicured gardens, adding splashes of color to the scene.

As she stood there, a warm breeze brushed against her skin, carrying with it the sweet scent of wildflowers. Lily couldn't help but smile, feeling a sense of peace wash over her. This town seemed like the perfect place to start afresh.

Her new neighbors began to trickle out of their houses, offering friendly waves and welcoming smiles. Mr. and Mrs. Anderson, an elderly couple who had lived in Maplewood for decades, approached Lily with open arms.

"Welcome to Maplewood, dear!" Mrs. Anderson exclaimed, her eyes twinkling with genuine warmth.
