About this listen

MULTI-CAST DUET NARRATION

I never planned to fall for my skeleton-masked captor, but now there’s no turning back.

I hated the gangs that ruled my city. After my friend was killed and my father vanished, I had no choice but to infiltrate one to figure out why. Entering their infamous club quickly showed me I was in over my head. Then the most feared gang leader took an interest in me. Arran was corrupt, deadly, and his searing gaze both terrified and tempted me. In my search for answers, I stumbled into his dark and dangerous game. The result? I belonged to him, with no chance of escape. In a heartbeat, I became Arran’s obsession. And in a terrible twist, I think he’s becoming mine.

Shane East, Allie Rose, Ella Lynch, and Holden Maddox make up the incredible cast of the audiobook for Arran’s Obsession. Complete with duet recording and sound effects, this is the first book in an interconnected dark romance trilogy featuring a murder mystery, a dark city, an adult entertainment club, and a crew of men who are possessive over what’s theirs.

Tropes:

· A masked gang and an adult club

· Possessive, damaged men

· Dangerous play (including free use and predator/prey)

· Forced proximity

· Set entirely at night

It was a shame that she was so vastly less skilled than the other narrators. It detracted from my ability to truly hear the story. Not since Primary School have I heard such obvious 'pretending out loud' (I cannot call it acting). The English voice person, with her exaggerated, child-like intonation was a constant dagger to my ears. I won't listen further. I despise everything about this book now. Why the hell do bad actors get jobs in audio? Their lack of skill is MORE painfully apparent when there is ONLY audio, where there are no opportunities to disguise it with visuals and music. Please tell me someone has stopped her from further ruining audiobooks!?

Very difficult to listen to one of the F narrators.

What’s not like about this book
Adventure an actual story.
Bad guy who’s good. I can’t wait for the next book.

Great story

This is the first book of Jolie Vines that I've read, and I really enjoyed it.

The characters were great, and I loved the found family aspect. Arran had such a sad bad story, and it took a while before I could understand why he acted like he did after claiming Genevieve at the game. Genevieve had an impression of anyone in a gang, and Arran was not like anything she had known before.

I was originally irritated at Arran's actions following the game, but Genevieve certainly held her own, and I loved how she denied his requests at times.

I read on Kindle and read along on Audible with good duet style audio with some sound effects.

A man who had never known love winning in the game of love he created

Just the right amount of crazy where we can pivot on the line between safe and sordid.

Might not be everyone’s cup of tea but I look forward to exploring other titles of Jolie Vines. Voice actors were great, MF could have had a more mature voice to sell the trauma she suffered.

Definitely worth a preview.

Sweet but Psycho!

overall I enjoyed it. the plot was a bit haphazard and sometimes didn't make sense (arrans vow apparently went flying and no further mention of it??)
the smex toys... um...no. I'm down for a lot, but there was weird.

I liked the crumbs of information dropped and will listen to book two. I liked the accents though found shades to be l a little odd, guess it's a mix of Scot/English. I enjoyed the male narrators and mostly liked the female. sorry to say the FMC irritated me immensely, the character is 22 but the way she was portrayed made her sound like a whiny teen and it was jarring. I listened to her chapters at x2.5 speed through... 🫤

didn't mind it
