After the Renegade mission by the crew of the starship Flying Dutchman, the UN Expeditionary Force thought Earth was safe for hundreds of years, at least.
After there was trouble on the home front and the president had to authorize a nuclear strike on an American city, UNEF decided they did need the Merry Band of Pirates again.
So, the Flying Dutchman is sent out on a simple recon mission. But for the pirates, nothing is ever simple, and their mission will become Armageddon.

a great series
i love the series so far listen to it while working sadly making me cry at work because of an audio book is a bit of a pain awsome series though so far....wasnt realy a fan of .5 sections but if you dont get them (like i did) you miss out in a bit

Awesomeness!
What’s not to love, fast paced, actioned packed adventure. This book takes your emotions on a roller coaster. Want to escape then join the monkeys on the adventure with Mr Bray reading the way.

While the story does get a little repetitive…
… it does become more rewarding in the end.
New, intriguing story plots introduced also keep interest simmering.
I hope the next one isn’t more of: impossible problem discovered leads to Joe despairing for days/weeks/months before cracker idea comes and with Skippy’s help they carry out Mission Impossible XXXVII, repeat ad nausaeum.

Best so far!
I’ve been following the series since the beginning and think this is the best so far. Looking forward to the next one. Outstanding performances by R. C. Bray as usual.

Amazing
Craig Alanson has done it again. Home run with this book, there is happy moments and very sad ones in there but the story is heading in the direction where will will finally get those mystery answers we have been dying for the clues to be revealed. And of course R.C Bray is absolutely fantastic with all the character voices he uses for this series thanks again Bob.
