About this listen
When two strangers are trapped in a blizzard, heat rises.
Haunted by what he lost in Afghanistan, Captain Jack Turner is at a crossroads. While the last place he wants to go is the Arctic, at least the routine mission gets him out from behind his new desk. But he starts off on the wrong foot with the Canadian Ranger guiding him across the forbidding and dangerous land, and Jack would rather be anywhere than sharing a tent with Sergeant Kin Carsen.
The Arctic is in Kin's blood, and he can't seem to leave the tundra behind. He wishes he could live openly as a gay man, but the North isn't as accepting as the rest of Canada. Although he's lonely, he loves his responsibility as a Ranger, patrolling the vast land he knows so well. But he's on unfamiliar ground with Jack, and when they're stranded alone by a blizzard, unexpected desire begins to burn. Soon they're in a struggle to survive, and all these strangers have is each other.
Contains mature themes.

Short but cosy enough to melt two frozen hearts!
Capt Jack Turner is still hurting after losing his lover in Afghanistan. He seems to constantly put his foot in his mouth when he arrives in the Canadian Arctic, rubbing local ranger Kin up the wrong way. But Kin starts to see beyond the stiff exterior and the two men connect on a patrol through the frozen wilderness. Kin isn’t out to his local community but he’s drawn to Jack in ways he can’t foresee. An isolated night in the frozen tundra brings them together and helps Kin resolve the loss of his brother.
Despite the shortness of the story, I really enjoyed this closeted romance. Kin had much to lose but still took a chance on Jack. I liked the danger and the romance, although I found the ending very abrupt with so many things unresolved. Joel Leslie’s audio narration was excellent, he really captured the emotion and essence of the two lonely men.

Great story
I'm usually sceptical of the shorter books, but I gave this one a chance because I'm a Keira and Joel fan. I wasn't disappointed. The depth of character that developed in the short time was brilliant. Loved the story, loved the performance.
