excellent performance. story ok.

the writing is excellent. the characters are...um...well. I felt like some of the character's motivations were unbelievable. I was disappointed in the climax because I wanted a cerebral ending instead of an action ending. but the story is intense and hits all the tropes you would expect in a book like this.
