About this listen

Winner of the British Book Awards, Popular Fiction Award, 2007.

Anna Walsh is officially a wreck. Physically broken and emotionally shattered, she lies on her parents' Dublin sofa with only one thing on her mind: getting back to New York. New York means her best friends, the most fabulous job in the world, and, above all, it means her husband, Aidan. But nothing in Anna's life is that simple. Not only is her return to Manhattan complicated by her physical and emotional scars, but also Aidan seems to have vanished. Is it time for Anna to move on?

An old fave that is still good fun!

Some of Marian’s older ones have some dated references but her humour transcends eras! This was the first of hers with some heartbreaking themes but it’s beautifully done and the Walsh family is at it’s finest!

Loved this one so much. Cried alot. So much I didn't expect! So obsessed with the Walsh family and sadly not many more books to go now, WAR CRIME!

Beautifully written as always!

Loved, loved, loved this book. Beautifully written as always by Marion but thankfully not narrated by Marion. Dearest Marion - I am a huge fan of your writing but please leave the narrating to others.

Brilliant to listen to

Love the Irish accent of the narrator (especially the way she does Helen & Mammy Walsh). These characters are favourites of mine now & I look forward to finding about them all, not just the one the story is about but this particular story was very heartwarming & heartbreaking all at the same time.

Absolutely in my top three.

Loved the way it was very funny yet very sad at the same time.

What about Caroline Lennon’s performance did you like?

her voice is beautiful to listen to.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

MMm yes, but don't want to say as it would spoil the story for others.

Marian nailed it!

I really enjoyed listening to this book, and could relate to almost every chapter. A must read for anyone who has lost their soul mate.

I'm addicted to Marian Keyes .

I've read all her books and I love her narrator aswell . The stories with 12 step references are extremely accurate and much loved ... when I read or listen to Marian I feel like I'm having a convo with a dear best friend . Thanks Marian Im so grateful for the fashion and style with which you write.
Cheers Nelly

Another fine Walsh story - Anna's turn

The 4th book in the Irish Walsh sisters/family series. Again very entertaining with a serious issue. This time it's Anna's turn, she's been in a bad traffic accident in New York with her newly married husband.
She gets support from her parents, her younger sister Helen's adventure into the detective capper, her older sister Rachel and various other groups.
Ok for those who have already read this,....
I may be a "Feather stroker", my fashion sense is not a "war crime" and I'm going to "leg it" down to the pub and "neck" a few cold ones. Finally I "green light" this book !
