Publisher's Summary
Romilly had worked hard for her stunning house in one of Bristol's most fashionable suburbs. She adored her daughter and handsome husband, and sure, life was sometimes exhausting - but nothing that a large glass of wine couldn't fix.

best yet!
Her best work so far. Amanda Prose successfully unpacks the complicated heartbreaking dynamics of one family struggling with alcoholism.

Tough subject
The topic of alcoholism is always tough. Prowse did a great job! However for a first time reader, I would recommend another book by like her Perfect Daughter. If I had read this book before Prowses others, I doubt I would have continued reading her books to be honest.

Excruciating, exquisite
A sorrowful story that was hauntingly relatable. It has exquisitely captured the excruciating elements of an alcoholic’s affliction.

Captivating and very moving
This book held me captive from the beginning. At times I honestly didnt want to hear the chilling next scene....sobering, very sobering. A gritty tale. Simple, yet powerful. Thoroughly recommend it.
