Publisher's Summary

Bookstore owner Aubrey Barnes likes his quiet, orderly London life, thank you very much. His shop may be struggling, his only employee is a menace, and his plumbing is one creaky pipe away from disaster, but he can handle it. Maybe. He cannot, however, handle the film company that's thrown his Soho street into chaos.

And he definitely can't handle the charismatic American actor Blake Sinclair.

Which is why he's extremely reluctant to lease out his shop as a set for Blake's film, but it's his one opportunity to save his business. Now he can't get away from the distractingly hot actor.

Then Aubrey finds himself alone with Blake in a trailer, and what happens next turns London's heat wave into an inferno that leaves him breathless.

Aubrey is not cut out for the high-profile life of dating a celebrity, especially an American actor who's not even out yet. Good thing their tryst is absolutely not going anywhere.

Of course, when you expect nothing, that's exactly when it starts to mean everything.

Contains mature themes.

Cute!

Such a cute read. A London bookshop is the perfect setting! Loved the Notting hill re-telling storyline. Clever and sweet with enough drama and unknowns throughout. The narrator was new to me and I he did a great job between two accents and distinctive voices for side characters too.

Bookish Charms & Blake's Alarms!

Honey, pour yourself a cuppa because you're about to dive into the literary equivalent of a cozy London rom-com, but with a dash of Hollywood glitz. An Unexpected Kind of Love? More like an unexpected dose of predictability, but darling, sometimes that's just what the doctor ordered.

Now, let's talk Aubrey. Oh, Aubrey, with your nose buried in books and that "I've read Proust, therefore I'm superior" air about you. Bless him, he's the kind of guy who thinks quoting Jane Austen is peak romance. I mean, it is, but only when it's done right. Still, in a weird, twisted way, his snobbish vibes are somewhat... endearing?

Blake Sinclair, on the other hand, is all Texas charm and Hollywood charisma. But that accent? I was half expecting him to whip out a lasso and cowboy hat. He's the sort of character that has you asking, "Is it hot in here, or is it just Blake?" But darling, behind those dazzling blue eyes, I wanted more. Dive deeper, give me the sultry secrets and untold stories!

Where the book really had me sipping my tea was their connection – or the lack of a deep one. These two need more than just steamy encounters in trailers (though, no complaints there); I want to see souls connecting and sparks truly flying.

In conclusion, while An Unexpected Kind of Love sprinkled my day with charm and cuteness – and I’m totally here for those vibes – I've got an itch for more depth, more passion, more everything. A sequel? Hayden, darling, please serve us another course where we dive deep into Aubrey and Blake's world. Let's see if these two can truly step up and become the rom-com kings of our dreams. Keep your pinkies up, sip that tea, and always remember: life's too short for bland romance. Let's spice it up! 💅🏼✨

Funny, hot and well narrated

Very enjoyable story with definite gay “Notting Hill” vibes. Good fleshed out characters with distinctive personalities. Narrator did an excellent job which really does make or break these audiobooks. The author has another book in the series with a different narrator and I can’t bear to listen to it.
