About this listen

From bestselling author, Toni Maguire, a story of trauma and survival.

Set against a backdrop of East End London, Georgia experienced a childhood few of us could imagine. Though brought up in a loving family, she watched her family break apart through deceit and her mother descend into heroin addiction.

Escaping into what she felt was a loving sanctuary, Georgia ended up trapped in a violent relationship with a man who would beat and abuse her. After having her three children by him, she knew she had to escape to finally find safety.

Now Georgia is sharing her story of survival to help others and prove there is hope even after trauma and heartache.

the raw honesty

Many women today still lead this kind of life. We need more books/stories to bring this out in the open.

Couldn't listen to it all the way through.

I am sorry for the childhood this person had however it was impossible for me to listen to it all the way through. There was too many inconsistencies that made it seem unbelievable such as them having phones that could film and take pictures 30+ years ago. I know that traumatic childhoods can mess up someone's view of time and not have a linear memory but it was too chop and change for me to follow along. I feel it needs to be edited a lot more for it to be a readable story. This is the first book by this author I have not been able to finish.
