Publisher's Summary

If you downloaded this audiobook, it is likely that you or someone that you know may have traits of avoidant personality disorder. Or maybe you want to learn more about avoidant personality disorder and its sufferers. You are in the right place. In this book, we will cover the different traits for this disorder, as well as who this disorder affects.

Avoidant personality disorder is a set of deficient or negative traits that are pervasive and hinder a person's full capability to be social and productive in all areas of their life. Many people mistake avoidant personality disorder with schizoid personality disorder, autism, Asperger's disorder, or anti-social personality disorder. Many think that anti-social personality disorder is a kind of social ineptness. Anti-social disorder is actually a pervasive set of personality traits which make a person have problems with authority and criminal problems. They often cannot fit into society. Our prisons are filled with people who have signs of anti-social personality disorder. This disorder is not the same as avoidant personality disorder. Both disorders, however, typically inherit the stereotype of being "loners" even though they are loners for very different reasons.

The traits that are inherent in avoidant personality disorder is a social ineptness and awkwardness that cause a person to avoid others and schedule their activities so that they can be in solitude. Persons with avoidant personality disorder tend to have anxiety attacks and extreme shyness that cause them to feel very uncomfortable around others. They don't feel like they fit into society, and they struggle to follow social norms. They struggle with school, college, work, and home life because of this discomfort with interacting with others.
