Age of innocence??
Kept me engaged, got to love a good/bad octogenarian. Paced and read well. Evil has no age limit.

Surprising!
The performance of the first secondary character was so extremely grating that I almost gave up. So glad I didn’t. A delightful and surprising story.

Darkly delightful
Never, ever, underestimate our senior members of the population. If you do, you do so at your peril. Delightfully macabre, well translated, don’t balk at the hot wash cycle for blood stains, the only hiccup in an otherwise highly entertaining, well written and well performed piece of literary noir.
