About this listen
--Gandhi
In 1999, this book was designated as one of the "100 Most Important Spiritual Books of the Twentieth Century" by HarperCollins Publishers.
A holy man to Hindus, a hero to Muslims, and a criminal to the British, Mohandas K. Gandhi was an inspiring figure of the 20th century, a man whose quest to live in accord with God’s highest truth led him to initiate massive campaigns against racism, violence, and colonialism.
From his youthful rebellion against vegetarianism, to his successful law practice in South Africa, his struggle with his own sexual excesses, and his leadership of the movement to free India from British rule, Gandhi describes the story of his life as a series of spiritual “experiments” and explains how he developed his concept of active nonviolent resistance, which propelled the Indian struggle for independence and inspired countless other nonviolent struggles.

inner thoughts
This book gave great insight into Ghandi's way of thinking and his ethical deliberations.
While not the best written autobiography I still recommend it as a must read to anyone who is interested in ethics, morality, character building or the civil disobedience and non - violent resistance movement.

One of the best autobiographies out there
It would be more apt if the narrator is familiar with indian names and pronunciations. Overall it would also enhance the audio experience if the narrator had an Indian accent.
But still a good listen .

Really poor choice of reader
Audible, what were you thinking? You hired a reader who is completely wrong for this book! The narrator had not done his research and completely butchered Indian names and words. Please have someone reread this very important book and give respect to Gandhi’s words.

Bad choice of narrator
Is there anything you would change about this book?
Pronunciation of Indian cities and language is awful, good book and storyline but robbed of authenticity by a very out of depth narrator.
