About this listen

A sweet Christmas story of Amish family life.

Anna was in mourning for her departed husband and struggled to cope with the farm workload and bringing up her young daughter, Hannah. The daughter had numerous heath issues, and the women folk of the community all did what they could to help out Hannah.

Over the years Hannah grew to be a pretty, clever, and practical young woman, but every time a suitor came to call they would receive the sharp end of Anna’s tongue. One young man who refused to give in was Isaac. One Christmas Anna overheard Hannah and Isaac talking about setting up a farm of their own, and Anna feared the worst. She came close to a breakdown at the thought of losing her daughter and them possibly leaving her alone.

Would Hannah leave her mother? Would her mother cope? Would Isaac do right in the end?
