Hannah Stoltzfus is a 20-year-old Amish girl who doesn't like the family restaurant business. She would much rather the family still owned the farm that they had worked for generations. It doesn't help that the business is struggling, and there is pressure every day.
Hannah's mother feels that the time is right for her daughter to marry. However, there are no suitable candidates that catch her eye.
