About this listen

In the 1970s, all a 17-year-old from Miami wants is to escape his tropical paradise & find Utopia. First, he hitchhikes across the country with his secretly gay, openly black best friend.

Then he joins a bunch of fellow Hippies and travels in a converted school bus to Denver, stopping along the way to harvest bags of really bad marijuana. Next, along with a bunch of Disney World rejects in Orlando, he enters the world of Glenn W. Turner and his famous get-rich-quick pyramid scheme: Koscot Interplanetary Enterprises. He got poor quick and had to use his sales training to become a better panhandler. Finally, he ends up living with a cult of heroin addicts who believe that in the End of Time, Jesus will forgive Satan, who will resume His place as the greatest Angel in all of Heaven.

The memoir is difficult to believe, but it is all true, and there is plenty of proof. Besides, nobody could make this up.
