Am Ende seiner Recherche steht die Frage nach der ethischen Vertretbarkeit des Fleischkonsums: durchgeknallt komisch und zugleich schmerzhaft ernst, eine irrsinnig tröstliche literarische Achterbahnfahrt, fußnotenstarrend und dabei für jeden Leser voraussetzungslos direkt zugänglich.
