The official prequel leading into the upcoming Aliens cooperative third-person survival shooter video game, Aliens: Fireteam, from Cold Iron Studios.
Dr. Timothy Hoenikker arrives on Pala Station, a Weyland-Yutani facility. Lured there by the promise of alien artifacts, instead he finds a warped bureaucracy and staff of misfits testing the effects of Xenomorph bio-materials on living creatures. Unbeknownst to the personnel, however, there is an infiltrator among them whose actions could spell disaster.
Also on staff is Victor Rawlings, a former marine who gathers together other veterans to prepare for the worst. As the personnel receive a delivery of alien eggs, the experiments spin out of control, and only the former Colonial Marines can stand between the humans and certain death.

Bronson Pinchot’s excellent voice acting
The story was great but it was Bronson Pinchot’s voice acting that stood out for me. Based on this audio book BP is in my top 3 voice actors along with Ray Porter and RC Bray.

broad new ideas
there are some good new ideas and less action in this story.
the accents are a bit annoying though.

Tedious
Dull, dull, dull and utterly predictable. The Author has gone with every Alien series and every USA Marine trope he could find. Definitely one to avoid. Shoot, shoot, kill, kill, evil corporation blah, blah, blah. not worth wasting your time on. I wish I hadn't. The narrator Pinochet didn't have much to work with, however his delivery style added much to this disaster. I wouldn't give up on Pinochet though. He could really shine in a different book.

Whether it's the flat narration or the uneventful story, if you want a good Alien story, you won't find it here.
