About this listen
While a moon hurtles toward certain destruction, taking with it a Weyland-Yutani bioweapons lab, talks on a nearby colony could lead to all-out war among the colonies.
Hygeia, an outer rim colony, is doomed as the moon on which it was built hurtles toward an inevitable collision with the dead planet Hephaestus. When a distress signal arrives from a Weyland-Yutani biowarfare outpost near the colony, a desperate plan is launched to evacuate the trapped scientists and colonists. Their destination: LV-846, a key United Americas colony where high-level talks are scheduled to address the galaxy-wide hostilities between the colonies. Once there, the evacuees, including a contingent of Colonial Marines, discover a plot that could plunge the colonies into all-out war. Their only hope may be an alliance with the deadliest ally imaginable.

One of the better in this series
In my opinion, this was one of the better books in this particular Alien series. I like that it shed some light upon the origins of *spoiler redacted*.
Into Charybdis is my favourite in the series, but each of the books has, in my opinion, added nice depth and richness to the Alien canon ala movie-books series.
I f'n love when a simple but brilliant film like Alien is progenitor not only to myriad great movie&book sequels, but also to several alternate timelines/universes etc.
Ever since surreptitiously exposing myself and my lil bro to Alien2 when we were liike 10 & 8, we have both simply adored the death out of everything Alien (despite the nightmares, shit knows we both had ourselves a few of those), and I am glad that I can recommend this instalment to him without any caveats.
I hope that you enjoy Alien as much as we do.

It’s ok.
More of the same, but not on the same level as cold forge.
The start of the book starts off in a pretty cool setting.

Meh of the same...
Okay, here's a serious question, one that comes from a deeply committed Alien fan... what is new under the sun?
I'm sorry to say, but I think the Alien world is finally revealing itself to be as limited as the Star Wars universe.. . there is only one story to tell.
Whilst there are some promising moments here, this is, like every other Alien comic, novel, audiobook etc., a run of the mill spam in a can, chase- fest.
Nothing here reignites my love of the franchise, instead, I feel myself doing Disney a favour and placing the final nail in position.... it's up to them to convince me not to bring down the hammer.
A sad, pointless, plot-anemic slog, whose dehydrated, abandoned raft is saved only by the acute and pitch-perfect dramatics of the audible narrator. This bloated carcass can hang any hope of redemption solely on her adept skills.
Recommended only for the purists, masochists, or deeply insomniac.
