About this listen
Keela Daley is the black sheep of her family. She has always come second to her younger cousin Micah. Even in the eyes of her mother, Micah shone bright, and Keela faded to black. Now, in adulthood, Micah is a bride to be, and the spotlight is solely on her. Keela is a low priority...or so she thinks.
Alec Slater is a bachelor, never one to bed the same woman, or man, twice. He is a free agent who does what he pleases and answers to no one - that is until a fiery Irish redhead with a temper to match her hair color knocks him on his arse. Literally.
She hates to admit it, but Keela needs a favor from the cocky Slater brother - a huge favor. She needs him not only to escort her to Micah's wedding but also to pose as her boyfriend. Alec agrees to help Keela but has certain conditions for her to abide by. He wants her body and plans to have it before anyone can say "I do".
What he doesn't plan on is losing his heart as well as the possibility of losing his family when someone from his past threatens his future.
Alec owns Keela, and what Alec owns, Alec keeps.

The 1st book still gets my better rating
There were only 2 ways I could see the author writing this book.
Number one seriously and with some grit or comically.
Ms Casey took the latter. I think she wrote it right as Alec's retired profession was a hard one to tackle.
I had read book 1 awhile ago and was hard pressed to remember the plotline and this author doesn't tend to give you any Back story.
So I was pleased when Alec told Keela his story. it jogged mine.
The beginning of the book was slow going and there was a lot of fiery attitude from the heroine which is much like the other heroine in book one, it was the 2nd half of the book that the suspense kicked in.
And that's where old foes from book one surface.
I absolutely love mias narrating.
The Irish accent is awesome and really brings the women to life.
However her male voices are terrible even the inflection and tone doesn't do any Justice.
I really wish they used a male's voice in the male parts I think this book or series would be a hell of a lot better.
I am used to her now and I really like the story as it is unusual and where this series is going is something that I haven't read before. Don't get me wrong the occupation of the characters has been done before but I, personally haven't read a plot line like this one.
They were Some pretty serious moments That were glossed over a bit and I did cringe a bit as I think Ms Casey could have gone a bit deeper in layers with those scenes.
However apart from that I really do enjoy her writing and how she articulates her Wording.
Kanes part in this book leads us to his story and his is a little different to what I've read yet again. thus approach, I think, Is an interesting idea.
I will be reading the series as I still do enjoy this author i. It's just a little unfortunate that the narrator is solo. As there a definite cringe worthy moments when it comes to her male perspective and voice. (she gets 4 stars for the Irish accent. )
