About this listen
'I just want to warn you. You're going to dive to the end of the cave. You're going to see these kids. They're all looking healthy and happy and smiley. Then, you're going to swim away, and they're probably all going to die.'
For seventeen days, the world watched and held its breath as the Wild Boar soccer team were trapped deep in a cave in Thailand. Marooned beyond flooded cave passages after unexpected rains, they were finally rescued, one-by-one, against almost impossible odds, by an international cave-diving team which included Australians Dr Richard Harris and Dr Craig Challen.
These two men were chosen for their medical expertise and cave diving knowledge, but this dangerous rescue asked so much more of them. They had to remain calm under extreme pressure and intense scrutiny, adapt to constantly changing circumstances and importantly, build trust among the rescue team and with the young boys and their coach, whose lives were in their hands.
Here is the story of these two Australian men who became international heroes - it is a story of determination, cunning and triumph that will long be remembered.

Top 10 all day long
An amazing story, some great detail and a really down to earth approach. Well written and a great insight into the lives of these two Aussie legends. Honestly one of the best books I’ve ever read

Even better than I thought it would be
As an Aussie medico who used ketamine to tranquilise an out of control drug addict last week, I loved this book. I initially listened to get the insider details of the rescue, but what struck me was the inspiring humanity on all levels from the rescuers to the children themselves, and the Thai people as a whole. It’s a fascinating and candid account, laced with typical Aussie humour.

Riveting
Finished this pretty much in one go! I loved how the Aussie doctors told us a bit about each of the kids and the coach and also about following up with them months later. Thank you for sharing your story! It was a captivating listen.

Fascinating
I found this an absolutely fascinating insight into one of the great uplifting rescue stories. Told with self deprecating Australian humour it nonetheless conveyed the enormity and high stakes of the task involved. Highly recommended.
