About this listen
My name is George Sachs. I'm a clinical psychologist and expert in adult ADD. I also have adult ADD, so much of what I teach comes from my own personal experience. I have experimented with many methods on the market with much trial and error. Lots of errors! I was never satisfied with the books I read on adult ADD, as the advice was hard to follow and was clearly not created by someone with ADD. The tools, tips, and techniques I developed for this audiobook have been field tested by me and my clients.
This audiobook is just the beginning of a lifetime of learning about your unique symptoms. In 30 days, you will learn what critical areas of your life need more attention. Many of my clients have tried medication, hoping for a miracle to cure their worst symptoms. The truth is medication can be effective for some, but most of my clients stop taking it because of the side effects - and then where are they? No better off than when they first started. That is why I coach them that they need to learn tools and new techniques to better manage their lives with adult ADD. That is what this audiobook does - offering 30 days of holistic, actionable advice that can be implemented immediately. With no negative side effects!
I believe in a holistic approach that starts with sleep, diet, and exercise, and that includes emotional, relational, and spiritual practices to truly overcome adult ADD. This audiobook deals with more than just tips to become more organized. We examine the impact of a life of untreated adult ADD and how that affects self-esteem, relationships, and overall success. The key word is overall. That is our holistic approach, because adult ADD affects all areas of one's life.

Great strategies.
The reader was robotic sounding but the content was really helpful. I want the hard copy to really integrate it.

A useful tool for those with ADHD
This is an easily digestible book for those with ADHD. There are a lot of good ideas and ways to implement them into your life, with tips on how to make it work for you. Great points about the importance of sleep hygiene and strategies to strengthen your sleep habits. There's a great chapter on hydration because I'm sure many other ADHDers haven't thought about how badly being dehydrated would exacerbate your symptoms.
There is a chapter on nutrition that, while probably intended as a treatise on the importance of limiting excess sugar and unhealthy foods, comes across as needlessly preachy.
The chapter on medication is also less than ideal, but the author does his best to caveat all he says with the fact that medication is a very useful tool for many.
The narrator chosen for this book is stilted and dull, he doesn't always manage to sound like a human reading a book. He sometimes sounds like an alien presenting it's best imitation. If the audiobook was any longer than 3 hours, I wouldn't have made it.
Overall I would recommend this book to fellow ADHDers as a good tool and maybe a good diving board to your own research into some of the topics.

yeah nah
I paid approx $17nzd for a narrated advertisement lol. As an average person living in a mid sized New Zealand town working in construction with zero tolerance for technology (emails social media etc) I found it very hard to relate too also being working class a lot of the suggested solutions of hiring someone else to do it or rewarding my self with a getaway are basically financially unreasonable also not having access to the sort of psychological aid as well as therapy that's so abundantly available in the US then unfortunately the majority of this book was unhelpful. if your an office jockey or city person suffering from ADD then this will most likely suit you more. I did take some useful info from this book tho it wasn't all bad hence me stopping work and writing this review now instead of listening to my stupid ADD brain and procrastinating 😅
