About this listen
From Academy Award-winning multi-talent Jamie Foxx, a hilariously candid look at the joys and pitfalls of being the father of two daughters.
Jamie Foxx is not only an actor, comedian and musician, he's also starring in his most humbling and long-running role yet as father to two independent girls: Corinne and Anelise. While his daughters have very different views on the world, there is one thing they can agree on: Dad gets on their motherf---ing nerves. Though every day with his girls brings hurdles and hilarity, he's learned a lot along the way.
In Act Like You Got Some Sense - a title inspired by his beloved and fierce grandmother - Jamie reveals his rocky parenting journey through priceless stories about the tough love and old-school values he learned growing up in the small town of Terrell, Texas; his early days trying to make it in Hollywood; and life after achieving stardom. You would think being an A-lister would ease his dad-duty struggles, but if anything, it has only made things more complicated. It seems that a teenage girl who just wants to blend in with her friends will not be excited to see her dad's flashy new convertible at the front of the carpool lane.
Hilarious, poignant and always brutally honest, Act Like You Got Some Sense is Jamie Foxx like we've never seen him before, dealing with problems he never imagined he'd have.

Wow - I’m impressed. Jamie fox is insightful. Interesting and up to date info on parenting from a Hollywood star??? I was doubtful. He pulled it off tho.

good timing!
loved this book and especially his and his daughters naration.
couldnt have come at a better time. i just returned from a visit to my homeland where i experienced the realization my mother is who she truly is and i cant do anything but accept the reality. im so glad i moved far away 35yrs ago. having an ocean between us gave me great perspective.
jaime foxs story made me see im not so alone. he also accepted and moved on. bless him he has gone further by taking his parents into his house. im not doing that! he must be a saint! great parenting tips for us wild parents who when we think about what we did dont want our kids to do the same.
i love him more now !

Such a good storyteller !
Couldn’t put this one down - one of the best books I’ve heard in a while. Jamie tells things in such a great way - so funny and engaging. And I love all the parental lessons scattered throughout - and it’s not too in-your-face either. I hope he writes another book, really enjoyed it and think a lot of others will too!

Full of Largess and Arrogance
The arrogance of the man with his dating and womanising history, who did not live with either of his baby mommas or his children in writing a book about parenting young women and girls is remarkable! Truly. Remarkable.
He is fun and entertaining but his descriptions of his parenting and view of young women ‘now he has daughters’ are hilariously tone deaf. This is a terrible book. Still moderately entertaining thanks to his fabulous delivery but misses the mark in the most extraordinary way. I cannot believe this got published
