Atmospheric and Memorable
I'm not one for YA fiction but I found this well developed and complex. Beautiful world building and fresh magic system. The narrator does a decent job of it and I never got distracted by the voice.

Amazing!
This book is honestly my favorite of 2018 and 100% in my all time fav list. Amazing characters and interesting plot.
With LGBT and POC rep, this book is perfect for people who are bored of straight white characters in fantasy.

Loved it!
Good, interesting plot-line. I’m more of a regular book person than audio book but this story made sure I came back to find out what would happen next. Also the ladies voice wasn’t annoying to listen to like I sometimes find, which can make the book less enjoyable.

A load of nonsense
Very confusing book and no proper ending. The card games and other details were too intricate and there was very little investigation. Too “woke” for my liking.

No charm
The story was nothing new, the world wasn’t particularly interesting and any potential it did have doesn’t feel like it was realised. The characters were more irritating than charming. Overall felt like a waste of time.
