About this listen

Women over 55 are of the generation that changed everything. We didn't expect to. Or intend to. We weren't brought up much differently from the women who came before us, and we rarely identified as feminists, although almost all of us do now.

Accidental Feminists is our story. It explores how the world we lived in - with the pill and a regular pay cheque - transformed us and how, almost in spite of ourselves, we revolutionised the world. It is a celebration of grit, adaptability, energy and persistence. It is also a plea for future generations to keep agitating for a better, fairer world.

Brilliant Work!

Loved it. It's taken me less than a week to listen to this book, and I haven't stopped talking about since I started. Thank-you so much for all the effort you've put into this eye-opening work. I have a new found respect and appreciation for women over 50. With any luck, I'll be one of them. ❤️

Amazing

I love this book it’s inspirational and I am so glad I am not alone in this way of thinking.
I am 42 and a single mum all my sons life, and I hear the sexiest and vile impressions some both men and unbelievably women have of other women. Men’s groups are men needing to gain control because of fear off feeling insecure. I grew up in a cultural upbringing where my dad as much as he was a hard worker and smart was a sexist bigot. I admitted to my family I am a proud feminist and my brother and some at first thought I was a lesbian but I am not.
I have learnt it’s great to be a feminist and single and I don’t hate men
Thank you Jane this book is awesome xx

Better Than The Paperback! Get Listening!

Jane Caro’s work is well-known to me & I’ve heard her speak at Newcastle Writers Festival in 2019. This book was the basis of her talk. As an Australian woman a few years older than Jane, I learned more about our social, financial & educational limits faced by women. Jane’s narration of her words made the book even more compelling. Thank you Jane Caro for raising so much about inequities & the rate of change (far too slow) needed for, especially older women, to have a comfortable & stress free retirement.
