About this listen
In this brand-new thriller in the Sunday Times best-selling series, Lieutenant Eve Dallas races to untangle a twisted family history while a hostage's life hangs in the balance.
Say goodnight, baby darling.
Three young women have gone missing. They're all pretty, mid-'20s- someone clearly has a type. But no one links their disappearances until the first - Lauren Elder - is found lying peacefully on a bench in a children's playground. She is neatly dressed with a wide black velvet ribbon covering where her neck has been precisely slit. Her hands are folded over a childish sign on which is written in black crayon - 'BAD MOMMY'.
Lt Eve Dallas and her team are brought in to investigate Lauren's murder and uncover the links to the other two women. Can they find out enough about the missing women and unmask their captor before they kill again?

Exactly what you expect in a good way .
Some might say it's just more of the same but for those of us who love the characters it's a pleasure just to be back with them a couple of time a year. The story itself is a new and interesting twist without as much of the personal drama as some earlier stories in the series. Satisfying at least.

Absolutely brilliant
I love the entire series and Abandoned in Death didn’t disappoint.
Eve Dallas and Peabody have a new case it’s a really interesting one when it’s all sorted. It’s also a time crunch to find the killer.
Luckily Eve has awesome backup as always in her team and Roark, Mira, Louise,Jamie,Nadine and everyone else!!!
I love listening to these audiobooks during my morning exercise.
This narrator is a favourite of mine.

One of their Own!
Excellent story that captivated as you listened to this Narration done by Susan Erikson.
J. D. Robb murder mysteries with Lt Dallas and dishy Rich husband Rourke plus the rest of the Detectives in her team give a good accounting of all the happenings. Hearing about Mavis new home being renovated with Bella their first child preciousness.

Another great book
The in death series is my absolute favourite crime mystery series! Read them all, am now listening and I love it. This is yet another great book, great ending I hadn’t seen coming. I appreciate the narrator and can always clearly tell which character is which. Maybe needs proof reading at times but great otherwise.

Bloody brilliant!
Another brilliant novel from JD Robb AKA Nora Roberts. Honestly Eve Dallas is such a well written character and this murder mystery didn’t disappoint. Amazing how the author manages to create new stories again and again and keep the listener engaged and on the edge of our seats. Loved it!

Another winner
Loved the story. A terrific plot with a continued growth of the main characters. Nice to see Peabody growing in her role as Eve’s partner. Only negative for me was the narration was a little too slow. The usual enthusiasm was missing.

Really really disappointing
Couldn’t stand the narrators voice. Only made it through 2 chapters. Sorry. I am used to the brilliance of JDKirk.

Disappointed
I love this series, this book was so disappointing, it was so predictable, no twists no turns. It seems so robotic and rushed . Maybe it’s time to retire the series if this is anything to go by.

Tried 3 times
I tried3 times to read this book and eventually just finished it.
It was nothing like the other books in the series because of the narrator. I found it very hard to follow her. Her accents were terrible. I hope her next book reverts back to original if not I guess I will be looking for another Author.
