the only ADD help book youll ever need
this book was excellent, practical and realistic. if you only get one book to help you sort yourself out, make sure its this one. i loved the way each issue/habit presented, included "is this you? it is if you..." then pointed out various things to help you determine if you need to address that area. we ADD ppl are usually bad at self assessment. this made it very easy and unavoidable. i also loved that each issue/habit had 3 levels of how to deal. level 1: ways to help yourself. level 2: help from friends and family. level 3: help from professionals. I am going to purchase a paper copy of this book because i want to highlight and be able to flip to chapters easily, and also because (my only complaint) there were a number of apps and websites recommended that I could not make out what the narrator was saying. she speaks very clearly, its just many of the apps/sites have names that could be spelled all different ways and such. so i want a print copy of the book so that i can check out all the great digital help suggestions. super impressed with this book and so glad i found it. recommended to anyone who has ADD !

Great
I was skeptical reading this because I thought it would be more mumbo-jumbo advice about “getting a calendar” or “writing a to do list” which is clearly advice that doesn’t always work for us ADHDers.
After reading another positive review I gave it a try and I’m quite pleased with the book. It’s very thorough and you can tell the authors actually understand the neurology.
Worthwhile if you struggle with executive functioning issues.

There a lot of good and applicable suggestions throughout the book and it will be a good reference point to launch further efforts to manage life and the demands it arouses. Thank you for the insights shared.

Disappointing
This book was not geared to someone who does not have the finances to engage the various recommended ‘coaches’. There people who have ADD and poor Very disappointed.

It’s Not the Book
I found the idea of the book a lot more compelling than the actual book itself.
If you’re into laundry lists of activities, you might appreciate this book, but as a person with ADHD, I found it really challenged my attention. And if you asked me what were the top three take-aways I would say:
1. Make a short list for today, check and revise it (that is, help yourself.
2. If that’s not successful over the long term get a friend to help you.
3. If that doesn’t work, pay a professional.
The narrator has a pleasant but monotonous delivery. No variation in pace or emphasis.
I suppose that one strength of the book was that it made boring tasks seem comparatively more interesting by throwing a layer of admin bureaucracy on the pile as well.
So now you not only need to remember to do the tasks, but also you need to remember to do all the stuff to help you to remember and do the tasks.

Drawn out a little too long
I found this drawn out a little too long and I found myself distracted at multiple times, which made the narration difficult to follow.
While it has some useful ideas, some suggestions are financially unrealistic to a blue-collar person, such as hiring coaches for different difficulties in live.
