About this listen

While their men fight, America's women produce what's necessary for victory. In a Michigan shipyard, four female co-workers forge a strong bond of friendship that, combined with faith, helps them to overcome oppression, despair, and tragedy - and find love in unlikely places.

Written from four diverse viewpoints, A Woman's Place is an emotionally rich glimpse of life in World Ware II America.

Lynn Austin's three Christy Awards include one for Hidden Places, which was made into a popular Hallmark film.

Love this author

This is my second book I’ve listened to from this author. Love how she draws me into the rich stories full of expression and Christian love. She doesn’t shy away from Christ but rather provides a new insight told through the women’s real life believable stories. This would be in my top 5 and I’m hungry to listen to more.

This story tells the early women’s movement and shows God’s hand in how he brought women’s purposes to the forefront. It also shows how men behave, good & bad. It’s a beautiful story.

An absolute joy to read

A wonderful reminder of seeking out what God's purposes for our lives are. Themes of friendship, loyalty, love, racial prejudice are masterfully woven together through the vastly contrasting stories of 4 different women. Lynn Austin is superb at creating characters whom everyone can relate to and identify their troubles with. Amazing narration!
