About this listen

From the twelve-million copy bestselling author of the Lewis trilogy comes a chilling new mystery set in the isolated Scottish Highlands.

A tomb of ice

A young meteorologist checking a mountain top weather station in Kinlochleven discovers the body of a missing man entombed in ice.

A dying detective

Cameron Brodie, a Glasgow detective, sets out on a hazardous journey to the isolated and ice-bound village. He has his own reasons for wanting to investigate a murder case so far from his beat.

An agonizing reckoning

Brodie must face up to the ghosts of his past and to a killer determined to bury forever the chilling secret that his investigation threatens to expose.

Set against a backdrop of a frighteningly plausible near-future, A Winter Grave is Peter May at his best.

Fabulous story

I loved this book. Fantastic narrative and narration. Set in beautiful Scotland in the future with all climate change has in store for us which was disturbing. Add in murder, mayhem, deceit, a life full of regret and you end up with a top class listen.
I could listen to the beautiful voice of the narrator all day!

The future beckons

Another great book by Peter with an interesting slant, it being set in a future Scotland. Storyline was gripping and fast paced and certainly kept me enthralled and intrigued with the windy path it took. Great narration as ever too. So in all, really a no brainer to give this 5 big shiny stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

May's First Equal Best

Fantastic mystery in futuristic Scotland. With Coffin Road and Lewis Man trilogy, May's awesome.

Enjoyable read

This is set in both present time and the near future. I was carried along by the story and the considerations it raised.

Possibly his best yet

Kinclochleven and the Mamores in a Scotland ravaged by the extremes of climate change provides a vivid setting for the investigation of a jourmalist´s murder by a terminally ill DI with a tragic past seeking his reconciliation with his estranged and bitter daughter. Works on several levels,

Spectacular on all counts.

My favourite author has outshined again. The subtle and often quirky futuristic references set the climate change scene so so well. This underpinned the usual high literary standard.
As ever Peter Forbes voice it perfectly matched to the quality of this book
