About this listen

When a devilish lord and a bluestocking set off on the road to ruin...time is not on their side.

Minerva Highwood, one of Spindle Cove's confirmed spinsters, needs to be in Scotland. Colin Sandhurst, Lord Payne, a rake of the first order, needs to be...anywhere but Spindle Cove. These unlikely partners have one week: to fake an elopement to convince family and friends they're in love to outrun armed robbers to survive their worst nightmares to travel four hundred miles without killing each other. All while sharing a very small carriage by day and an even smaller bed by night.

What they don't have time for is their growing attraction. Much less wild passion. And heaven forbid they spend precious hours baring their hearts and souls. Suddenly one week seems like exactly enough time to find a world of trouble. And maybe…just maybe…everlasting love.

Great Fun

I really enjoyed the development between Min and Colin. funny witty and utterly charming with a bit of naughty mayhem thrown in.

another hugely enjoyable read

I have read three Tessa Dare books so far, and while this one wasn't my favorite I still hugely enjoyed it. I will definitely be reading more!

Fantastic!

I love Tessa Dare’s clever wit, humour and storytelling, and this book had everything you could want in a good romp in spades.

The different situations Min and Colin found themselves in and how they managed it was most entertaining and I was captivated from start to finish. The narration was excellent. I highly recommend.

Very funny...

This is my second time around on this book. I love the series and I found this book even funnier than the first. Can't wait to 'reread' the other books again. It's a pity that not all of the series is available on audio yet. I look forward to that day.

Entertaining story

Not particularly anchored in authenticity but nevertheless an entertaining tale. Carolyn Morris reads very well and gives lots of life to the characters. It is a big ask to impose modern feminist ideas on an historical story but the author manages to incorporate these with not too much awkwardness. I was willing to suspend disbelief for the sake of the story but found that it became harder as the story progressed. A lovely romance with the unlikely romantic conclusion.
