Publisher's Summary

Set in the very near future, A Time to Run opens with the strange and sudden, "in the twinkling of an eye", disappearance of millions of the Earth's citizens.

Married couple, Matt and Jenny Jacobs, attempt to escape the stranglehold of a Global State ruled over by a thoroughly evil World President, Byron East. In a cashless society the currency is electronic credits. Unless fully tied into the One World System, there will be no credits, no means to buy or sell, no ability to afford travel or the fuel to travel - therefore no means of escape!

But the wind is still free.

The Jacobs own a small yacht chained to a mooring on a Cornish river only two miles from the ocean. They decide to make a run for it, sail across the seas, and find a deserted island on which to hide out. Little do they realise they have also set off on a journey into faith, a journey with a staggering climax.

Beginning in Cornwall, the story quickly develops an international reach with worldwide apocalyptic events taking place, leading eventually to the Second Coming.

There is a final twist at the end!
