A slow burn
I know you both love reading. Here’s a book a book recommendation.
A Tidy Ending by Joanna Cannon.
The story moves along slowly and you do wonder when something is going to happen but stick with it to the end because when it does it’s brilliant. A few cringeworthy scenes, lots of insightful, everyday moments and some that you only realise later.

Far more complex than it first appears
Pay attention! It is easy to be lulled into a false sense of familiarity with this book. Brilliant narration and fascinating characters.
