About this listen
This soldier is on a mission - a picture perfect proposal that she can’t refuse.
A standalone holiday story from New York Times best-selling author Vivian Arend.
Mack Klassen is no longer a Canadian Air Force firefighter, but he’s still fighting fires. The one burning between him and a certain small town mechanic might be the hottest he’s ever faced. When Brooke Silver requests his help in making this holiday season extra special, it’s the opportunity he’s been waiting for. A chance to impress her, impress her seemingly unenthusiastic father - and finally find the perfect way to ask an all-important question about forever.
After Brooke catches her dad muttering about an old-fashioned Christmas, she enlists Mack and her friends in Heart Falls to make this holiday season one for the memory books. Cookies, decorations, songs, and presents - it should be easy, but between one disaster after another and the impending arrival of the storm of the decade, the perfect festive season seems to be slipping away.
Then suddenly it’s not about the day but surviving long enough to enjoy their future. It’s going to take a holiday miracle for everyone’s wishes to come true.

The narrator does a great job.
The narrator does a great job of bringing the emotions to life. Fun being with Brooke and Mack. BOOK REVIEW The sad, nostalgic and heart-warming gamut of emotions one feels makes this book a must read. Ms Arend is one of the very few authors whose contemporary books I always read. I started off with PNR Granite Lakes series and have been a fan ever since. Her books are totally readable, with great characters you want to know and even move to live near and be friends with. I only wish I didn’t have to wait so long between books. A wonderful Christmas themed story based around small town life. It is so nice to read a good solid story that brings warmth to your heart. Loved the rock cookies scene, so sweet and bought back memories. Trust, love, support and community are missing from most lives nowadays but at least I can escape into a great book like this to have those feelings. Brooke and Mack are not an insta love couple which is a nice change from some other books. They are like so many other ordinary couples, trying to find time for the other. They have been dating for a year and both wish to move forward with their lives but are not in a financial position to do so. I really enjoyed going along on their journey as they found the path that was right for them. Watching Mack waiting for the right moment to bring out the ring burning a hole in his pocket was fun. Wasn’t sure if Brookes dad was going to be a problem but it was nice how that played out. Love Hannah and Brads news and great to have new names and faces appearing. This is my honest review of this book.
