Fascinating story into an era and part of the world seldom visited
Eric Newby’s understated style and clever descriptions paint pictures of fascinating regions and people groups few of us are able to visit. A thoroughly enjoyable read/listen.

A great audio book and a great story
James Bryce as narrator is excellent, his narration is full of character and life. His narration is much more than just a plain reading of the text. The story itself is a wonder, well written and very humorous. It is very enjoyable. Well worth listening to a few times, not just once. I recommend it to anyone.
